Happy New Year y’all! I hope your 2020 is off to a great start! Trying to keep my head above water while I knock out my goals for the new month. I spend the last week of 2019 in Bermuda with my family as part of our no gift Christmas tradition. It’s something I and my hubby started before we got married and continued after kids. I’ll be honest and tell you it’s not always easy completely explaining it to a six-year-old but we make it work. It isn’t exactly cheaper than gift giving but the memories and the bonds created are priceless.
Bermuda is a beautiful Island and I will recommend it for a girls’ trip, solo trip, and a family trip. This was my third time in Bermuda. I shared photos from last year’s trip HERE. One thing to note, Bermuda is expensive because a lot of things are imported into the country, so be prepared. We saved money by booking our flight early (we used miles so it was very inexpensive) and we also booked a hotel with access to a Club Level which provides meals (talking full breakfast, snacks throughout the day, appetizers, etc). (Got our pajamas from Target.)
My Farm Rio Macrame skirt is currently sold out. My tank is on sale for $7.
My blouse is by Shop A. Au by Asiyami Gold. I am wearing the Anjali top which retails for $120. I absolutely love this chiffon top and plan to style in again come Spring. You need my new fav $56 dad jeans by ASOS, comfort is an understatement!
My purses (straw and beaded one) are both from Nigeria. I picked them up at a local market both for under $50. Get my straw hat for $44 HERE.
My new fav sunglasses by Le Specs sunglasses and I splurged on a pair of Dior slides when I was in London recently. My gold stacked necklace is by Madewell. Shorts are sold out.
Travel Tip: I highly recommend traveling to the Islands/Carribean with small kids versus big cities. It’s usually not as busy, kids clubs are usually a thing (so you get some alone time) and lastly, the beach (kids love the beach!)
My velvet dress is by BB Dakota and shoes by IRO are on major sale.
I can’t get enough of the linen Nebraska dress by Reformation (found mine on sale via Shopbop) Snag it before it sells out. My shoes are by Cult Gaia are on sale.
My style for this trip is similar to what I would wear on a tropical vacay. I skipped maxis on this trip and opted for more dresses and pants. The weather in Bermuda in December is low 70s and high 60s so it was more on the cool side which was perfect weather for pants. I linked everything I wore below except for a few exceptions.
I snagged my striped dress for under $30. My wide leg pants are from the Tamu X Tongolo collaboration. I have been following Tamu Mcpherson for years now and I absolutely love her collaboration was with a Made in Africa brand.
