Hey y’all, as promised, here is PART 2 of my Paris fashion week recap where I share all I wore for my very first Paris Fashion Week. HERE is Part 1, in case you missed it. While I share my looks, I wanted to also share 5 things that you should know before heading to PFW. I might not be a fashion week pro, it’s my 2 fashion week experience after all but I am dishing on all that I know in regards to PFW which would be useful to a newbie or even someone who has attended previously!
As you may know it from watching your favorite blogger or media personnel, fashion week is not for the faint of hearts and it involves quite a lot of revolving doors. Here are 5 things that will make Paris Fashion Week easier on you.
I reached out to the people at Kobi Halperin who not only extended an invitation to their Presentation
(found out about this through one of the girls on my trip) but also styled me in this beautifully embellished suit from their Fall collection. My belt bag is by Jacquemus via Farfetch.
Plan early
Don’t wait till August to start planning for September shows. Give yourself a good 3 plus months and if you’re like me, start saving way ahead because one thing you need to know is that FASHION WEEK IS EXPENSIVE. Well except if your trip can be completely sponsored by a brand (which is possible!)
My suitcase was gifted by Samsonite, this set is called the Samsonite Novaire Spinner set in Rose Gold. Stay tuned for my post on how I pack for trips.
Book your accommodation early
This is a cardinal rule if you want to stay where the action is happening. Imagine all the fashion lovers from around the world in one city that should give you an idea of how quickly you need to get started os you save on hotels. I highly recommend a hotel for many reasons SECURITY being at the top of the list. Stay in the champs Elysees area if you can, it is close to all the action.
My T-shirt was gifted to me by Afrothrone, LAGOS provided all my jewelry for PFW.

Go with a crew
I cannot stress this enough, well except if you already know how to navigate Paris Fashion Week! If that’s not you, go with a group of gals/fellas who you know. Who have similar goals for the trip and who will add value. When I mean add value, I am talking someone who will book hotels, get you in shows/presentations and let’s not forget who won’t bring drama. Cos no one loves a drama queen!
Reach out within your community and beyond
Let everyone you know and on social know that you are headed to Paris Fashion Week. Reach out to brands you work with to style you. From luggage, clothes, shoes, everything! Pull pieces from your favorite brands but do it early. Reach out to brands you aspire to work with and put together an amazing pitch. The timing at which you reach out is everything. Don’t wait till a week before, trust me I learned the hard way.
Take photos, take photos, take photos!
I cannot stress this enough but be the girl that went to Paris and came back with 3 looks. I planned almost 10 looks in total for a 3 nite trip. It’s the way to rip the rewards from your trip. It is the way to stand out and create killer content that brands would love! Hire a photographer if you have to (I strongly encourage this) and document your time in Paris!
