Restyling is one of my favorite thing to do when it comes to fashion. The ability to create something new from what you already own is something that excites me about fashion! I have been restyling pieces for years but I never did a post that can help anyone struggling with this. It not only saves you money in the long run but it is also better for our planet:-) Today’s post features a classic knit dress by Topshop which I previously wore HERE.
I bought this dress two years ago and decided last week when I had an event to attend and wanted to wear something I already owned to try restyling this now soldout Topshop dress. I restyled it here with a pussy bow shirt which I previously wore HERE. My shirt is still for $49.
My Over the Knee boots has been a staple now for 2 years too. This pair is by Sam Edelman who makes amazing shoes at super reasonable prices. My pair is sold out, but I have linked similar pieces below.
Purchasing classic pieces, ensure that you can wear them over again for years.
5 easy ways to restyling pieces you already own
Style sleeveless dress or 3/4 sleeve dress with shirts or blouse
This is what I did with today’s post. It is perfect for taking your Summer dresses beyond warm weather. Stick to plain colors in neutrals like black, white, gray or navy.
Wear a turtleneck sweater or bodysuit over strapless mini dresses
I love to take my favorite dresses beyond Summertime, hence why I love the restyling tip. Turtlenecks are perfect for creating this look. Pair with turtlenecks in colors that compliment your dress as I did.
Wear your coat as a dress
I love doing this in the Fall especially. Add a statement belt to your favorite Spring/Fall coat and wear it as a dress.
Turn your dresses into skirts by wearing a blouse or sweater over it
Here is a simple way, I currently don’t have a photo of this option but I’ll be doing this in a few weeks to share with you.
Wear maxis over jeans
Wear your maxi’s beyond Summer by pairing them with your favorite jeans.
