Where do you shop for your kids and why? That’s the discussion today on my Instagram page. While I wait on responses, I am sharing my favorite places to shop and why I love them. As a mom of two (almost 9 year old boy and a 5 year old girl) I have a bit of experience when it comes to kids fashion. I get stuck sometimes and I am sure other moms can relate, which is why I put together this post. Keep reading to see what stores made my top 7 and why.
What I buy: School clothes/Play outfits & shoes
Why do I love GAP Kids: Their clothes last VERY long and when you shop during their SALES (I never buy anything there full price) I find their sales prices to be cheaper than some lower end stores. Their stuff is way more affordable than say JCrew (same company)I find their sneakers to be very durable too.
What I buy: School clothes/Play outfits. On occasion, party wear during brand collaborations (e.g, Victoria Beckham, Jason Wu)
Why do I love Target for kids fashion: Their line Cat & Jack comes with a one year guarantee. Any brand that can stand behind its’ product is alright with me. They actually last for a while and you can’t beat the prices. I get the best designer special occasion wear at wonderful prices during these collaborations. Target is a great place for everyday affordable shopping.
What I buy: School clothes/Play outfits
Why do I love H & M : Affordable prices and variety of styles for all ages. My daughter and I are dressed in mostly pieces from H & M Fall collection(aside from my bag and belt.) The price point is amazing too and I just bought a pair of shoes for my daughter for the first time from H &M and she absolutely loves them and finds them comfortable!

What I buy: School clothes/Play especially during Fall/Winter
Why do I love Zara for kids fashion: They have some of the most stylish kids clothes I have ever seen and the tailoring is impressive. I love that I can get clothes with structure that fits my kids perfectly without much of an adjustment. They achieve all these while still being wallet friendly (I still prefer shopping when they have their seasonal sale.)
What I buy: Special Occassion wear
Why do I love Janie & Jack for kids fashion: I love Janie and Jack for their special occasion wear. It is my go to place for high quality kids clothes that I can pass on to others and ladies you don’t want want to miss their sales! I got my daughter’s christening dress, birthday dress, etc from Janie & Jack. I can rely on them to deliver gorgeous designs for my daughter but they are limited when it comes to boys.
What I buy: Sleepwear
Why do I love Gymboree: I mostly shop for sleepwear at Gymboree and maybe once or twice I picked up play clothes. But I love that they have reasonably priced sleepwear that last a long time! They have a variety too and with the way kids outgrow clothes so fast, it’s a good option.
What I buy: Underwear, camisoles, socks, thermal wear and Occasionwear
Why do I love Marks & Spencer: I might be a little biased here (I grew up wearing underwear from M &S) but I absolutely swear by them. I shop for underwear, undershirt and camisole at M &S. They last a long time and they have so much cute stuff too:-) They ship to the US for free so why not try them. I also love them for my son’s occasion wear. It’s the one place I can count on for tailored suits and blazers at a bit of a reasonable price. I don’t like it when I see little boys in ill-fitted suits which is so common with a lot of stores in the US.

Thank you for sharing your list. There are some brands I’ve never purchased bbefore on your list. Most those stores you listed are where I shop for my kids. I also love Macy’s. My daughter is 10 and loves clothes, but her and her brother are constantly growing, so I don’t like to spend a lot of money on their clothes, but I want great quality for them. H&M, Cat and Jack, and the Beautees and Epic Threads line from Macy’s are amazing and so stylish.
Thanks so much Faith for sharing the places the shop for your kids. I like to check out the Beautees and Epic Threads line at Macy’s.
