Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. I have been MIA for about a week now and I apologize for that, I have been quite busy. I am sharing a quick breakfast recipe today. I have always loved smoothies and for years especially during the hot summer months, going to Smoothie King was a ritual. Those days are long behind me now and I have become quite the smoothie guru. I make my own smoothies now and add wholesome ingredients:-) My favorite being Kale Smoothies!
I was so excited when I found out about Smoothie bowls while getting lost in the world called Instagram, lol. I am doing a 2 weeks clean eating challenge, so this came at an amazing time 🙂 The added ingredients made my smoothie an incredibly filling meal.Today was my first attempt at this and it turned out great. Super yummy! Try this with your favorite healthy smoothie and take it up a notch.
Kale Smoothie (You can pre-pack in bags for faster preparation)
3 cups of kale leaves ( add more for a thicker and greener smoothie)
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup frozen strawberries (add more for a sweeter taste)
2 tablespoon frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of water
2 teaspoon chai seed
1/3 frozen banana (add sweetness)
Blend all the ingredients in a blender till smooth. Pour in a bowl.
For my toppings, I chose the following
2 tablespoon fresh blueberries
3 fresh strawberries
11/2 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 teaspoon chai seed
11/2 tablespoon granola
You can play around with your favorite topping but remember to keep it healthy:-)
Calorie count in smoothie 228
Calorie count after adding the toppings 363 amazing right!
Bon appetit:-)

@Titi…
how does kale taste like? Never had kale before! It looks pretty healthy!
It's pretty bland on it's own, the fruits and yogurt masks that. It is so nutritious, reason I love it. 🙂
I like smoothies and yours looks like a nice recipe. Thanks for sharing!
