Vacation: Naples, Florida

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. I went on a family vacation a few weeks ago to Naples, Florida. Why Naples you might ask, we wanted a beautiful resort with beach access, activities to keep the kids entertained and yeah I wanted a spot with a spa, lol. Naples is about 8.5 hours from Atlanta and like most Florida cities, it is very beautiful and laid back. There are lots of resorts in Naples and it has an amazing night life and apparently rivals Miami (according a local my husband chatted with.) Its a popular holiday spot in winter when most of the country is freezing. Going there in the summer (off peak season for them, gives you more for your money) We chose the Ritz Carlton resort for our stay. Lets just say everything was amazing, service, food, spa, beach, you name it.

Shift dress: Embellished option

Hello and thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you had a wonderful weekend? I am starting off this week in my usual manner, with a fashion post. I had an event last month and I needed a stand out piece that was within a reasonable budget (under $50). It was for a day event, so I knew a shift dress would be perfect. I love shift dresses because they are easy, no fuss outfit option and they can transition easily from summer to fall. (Throw on a pair of tights and you are fall ready) I found this embellished number by Asos and I knew that it would be perfect for my event.

Suit up in a Tuxedo Structured Romper

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. I am kicking off this new week in a structured blue romper. I have always been a fan of tuxedos, the fit and flare to them is amazing and y'all know I am a sucker for rompers too, so I couldn't pass on this one. Lets not forget about the color. This outfit would be perfect for girl's night out or just a fun night with your beau. I chose to accessorize it differently to show two different ways to dress up the romper. Rompers are always a great alternative to dresses and you are more likely to stand out in a simple yet chic number like this one. Never be afraid to dive in and try something different.

Adding Vamp to your look

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. I am starting off the week in this gorgeous this red number. I am a believer in making an outfit mine by either wearing it differently or adding a special something to make it stand out. Today's outfit is classic example. Step away from the norm and don't conform to standards by styling your outfit differently. I will be diving into more of this in future posts. I purchased this outfit from a closet sale recently (an amazing way to add to your closet without breaking the bank.) Thrift shopping both in store or online is another way to do this.

Product Review: Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque, Kinky Curly Custard, Mizani 25 Miracle Milk

Hi guys and thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be posting my reviews on hair products and my recommendations based on my experience. Its summer here and I don't know about you but I have personally had to change a few of my staple hair products to adjust to the humid weather. Here are some of what I am using now and why.

Summer chic: Stripped Maxi Dress

Hi and thanks  for stopping by my blog. Yesterday's weather here in Atlanta went from wet and gloomy in the morning to sunny with beautiful skies later in the afternoon so I knew I had to sneak in a quick shoot (perfect weather for pictures.)
I chose this outfit because maxis are one of my summer fashion essentials and this print is simply irresistibly. ‎Maxis are very versatile, put it on, add a pair of heels and you are ready for an event from a wedding to dinner or keep it simple with flats and you are dressed perfect for a day/casual event.

Easy Watermelon cake

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy new month! I cant believe we are already in the second half of the year. Today, I am sharing a quick and healthy recipe that would be perfect for your next summer event. Independence day here in the United States is a few days away and grilling will be on the top list of most Americans. I found this recipe online last summer and tried it last summer. It was a big hit and is now part of my menu during bbqs. The best part of this recipe is that you don't have to be a pro to make a beautiful Watermelon cake and yes it is a healthier and might I add pretty looking dessert. Skip the high sugar, high calorie desserts and opt for this refreshing dessert option that everyone will love.
