The versatile maxi

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope your week has been going great? I am sharing a few pictures from the outfit I wore this past Sunday. My younger sister @omogecreations made this beautiful and super affordable maxi for me. I love the print and the versatility of the dress. Its a wrap maxi that can be worn in different ways. (As shown knotted and tied to the side) I wore mine casually, pairing it with my red sandals. Check out her instagram page to contact her and for more of her awesome creations. Can't wait to share my next post on friday, just in time for Labor day weekend.

My baby turned one

Hello, today I am sharing a few pictures from my daughter's first birthday party. I always wanted a summer baby and one of the reasons is simply to a throw an outdoor party, LOL. I was blessed with one last July, needless to say, I have been planning this party in my head for a while. I went with  "shabby chic" and "bling" for the theme. I did the planning myself and did a lot of DIY projects too. I will be sharing some of that on different posts. I couldn't have done it without Etsy, shout out to this wonderful platform for small businesses!
It rained that morning (just my luck, lol) , so it changed my plans a bit, but everything turned out great in the end. My hubby was on the grill, whipping out yummy food for our guests and he took all the pictures too, YES he is a Super Dad :) The kids had a great time with the trackless train and the drink station was a hit with the adults. I decided to go with a simple dessert table and loved how it turned out. The cake I baked for the event  was a 4-layer chocolate and vanilla cake with butter cream frosting. There is nothing I enjoy more than planning and executing parties for my loved ones. She was a great spot and wasn't fussy or cried at her birthday party. I hope she looks back at these pictures one day when she much older and appreciate them:)

Lady in red

I can't believe we are approaching the end of the month of August already, where did the month go! Before we know it, summer will be officially over :( It has been quite a busy summer for me socially and for my business. Thankful to God for His blessings. Today I am sharing pictures from an event I attended last weekend. A good friend of mine turned thirty and to mark the milestone she hosted a formal dinner. The dress code for the night was black tie so I had to find a long dress suitable for the night.
I settled on this red peplum number because of its simple style, beautiful neckline and the color. I always go for comfort when it comes to my outfits and this was no exception. I decided on accessorizing with a brooch and round statement earrings. I also played with a new lipstick/liner color and I haven't quite decided if its going to be a keeper. I still have a few events lined up for the summer and I can't wait to share those pictures too. Hope you had a fun weekend?

Maxi Love

Hi and thanks for stopping by. Its been a a while since my last post mainly because a lot has been going on around me. My little girl turned one a month ago (party planning craze) and summer is usually so busy with my baking business, hence my blog took a back sit. I planned a birthday party for my daughter's birthday and I will be sharing a few pictures from the event on my next post. I wore this gorgeous maxi for her birthday party. Maxis have always been my go to outfit choice every season of the year. There is nothing such as owning too many of them, LOL. I am especially in love with this particular one because of its beautiful print and intricate details from the bell sleeves (hello sixties!) to the buttons and belt. I literally twirled a few times in this number, I felt that great in it :)
